Vincent Moon, the famous independent French filmmaker, made a documentary about them, Bryce Dressner’s composition „Little Blue Something“ recorded by Kronos Quartet is a tribute to their music and he himself cites them as the reason he started making music. Sufjan Stevens and The National are among their long-time fans.

Starting in the mid-80‘s the Czech husband-and-wife duo IRENA & VOJTĚCH HAVLOVI (THE HAVELS) have almost 40yrs of join musical career behing them. During the years they have passed through several distinctive stages of development. From performing classic jazz and European classical or Renaissance music via experimental Capella Antiqua e Moderna ensemble and their trips to India, they were able to develop what since the very beginning had been a very unorthodox approach to both historical and modern compositional techniques and interpretive procedures. In their pursuit of natural, easily identifiable sound, Irena Havlová and Vojtěch Havel have been advancing forward, step by step, with brilliant intuition and steadfast consistency and, in the process of creative search and discovery, achieving remarkable results that have earned them international recognition, many musical and film colaborations and touring across Europe, USA, Canada, Japan and Africa.
